Cameron Quie Wood Carving

Cameron works mainly in hardwoods, and uses traditional hand tools.  This is a one man operation, and everything is meticulously crafted by hand. He maintains a very high standard for quality and integrity in his work, and has a deep passion and appreciation for the old way things were done and the unique character of work created by hand and eye.

 

Cameron Quie was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota.  His father is a highly skilled carpenter, and Cameron learned to love woodworking at a young age.  He recognized an interest in wood carving at age nine and started out by carving faces and human figures. Since then, his field of abilities has spread into many other types and applications of wood carving.  His main focus has been decorative relief carving.

   

From 2009 to 2012, he studied under master wood carver Konstantinos Papadakis in traditional old world wood carving.  Through Konstantinos, Cameron acquired a high standard and appreciation for proper wood carving technique, design, and quality.
